Concert to include the Premiere of new works by local composers

Including:
‘Theme from the Forbidden City’ for violin and piano by Sue Aston

‘Fern Hill’ and ‘London River’ for string quartet and voice by Douglas Cook, and ‘Reverie’ for violin and piano.

Other items include music for String Quartet, Trio, and solo performances by Sue Aston, violin, Douglas Cook, piano, and Maria Heseltine, mezzo soprano.

"The landscape of Cornwall, the sea, the folklore and the lifestyle here are all tremendous influences on my work and have been for many other composers" says Sue. "My aim is that the Aston String Quartet will become synonymous with exciting new musical ventures, as it will showcase the talents of new composers and excellent musicians".  Sue Aston
